Zakynthos Greece:
Pictures of Zakynthos island, Ionian
:: About Zakynthos Island
The numerous
beauties of Zakynthos are explaining the high tourism
of the island, which is the second touristiest island
of the Ionians after Corfu.
Green, with paradise-like beaches, Zakynthos is
really a wonderful place. The outstanding coast
of the island is welcoming the endangered loggerhead
turtle (Caretta-Caretta) and the Mediterranean Monk
Seal (Monachus monachus), but the indiscriminate
commercialization of the coast and the many touristy
infrastructure are endangering even more those species.
