Kos Greece:
Pictures of Kos island, Dodecanese
The island of Kos is the third largest
island of the Dodecanese and lies between the islands of Nisyros
and Kalymnos, near the coasts of Asia Minor.
It is the most fertile island of the archipelago, full of
greenness, as well as the second touristiest island of the
group after Rhodes.
Appealing mountainous villages, beautiful landscapes, wonderful
beaches and abundant ground water are some of the assets of
the island.
Kos attracts numerous tourists and is equipped with very good
tourist facilities and infrastructures. |

The island of Kos has many beaches scattered
on its western, south-eastern and north-eastern coasts.
The most famous beach is the one called Kefalos; it has crystalline,
very cold waters and soft, golden sand. Also very popular
is the beach of Tigaki, with its white sand and its mirror-like,
shallow waters.
The beach of Kardamena is a large touristy resort and has
white sand and emerald waters. All those beaches propose sun
beds and umbrellas rentals as well as water sports. More secluded
beaches are also available. |
